General InformationDynaWrite is a communication device operated by using computer style keyboard. This device is designed for individuals with speech disabilities associated with congenital or acquired disabilities such as degenerative neurological disabilities (ex. Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis (MS), or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). This device requires the patients to be able to type and spell. Entered text is spoken back in a choice of three voices. The unit uses VeriVox, a natural-sounding synthesized speech output in a choice of female, male or child voice.
This device may be preset and installed in such a way that it is adjusted and accessible for a person to operate. However, it requires a person to have certain level of physical and cognitive performance skills to be able use this device successfully and benefit from use of it.

Body Structures: nervous system, eyes, ears, structures related to movement (fine motor activity required for typing).
